Constellation NewEnergy Renews Power Agreement with Defense Energy Support Center

BALTIMORE, Jan 16, 2007 -- Constellation Energy (NYSE: CEG) announced that its subsidiary, Constellation NewEnergy, has renewed its electricity purchase agreement with the Defense Energy Support Center on behalf of the Department of Defense.

Under the 24-month contract, Constellation NewEnergy will provide 161 megawatts of electric power to Dyess Air Force Base, Naval Station Ingleside, Fort Hood, Joint Reserve Base Navy Reserves and Naval Air Station Kingsville, Texas. The new contract begins in January 2007.

The Defense Energy Support Center's mission is to provide the Department of Defense and other government agencies with comprehensive energy solutions in the most effective and economical manner possible.
