Constellation NewEnergy to Match Wind Power for Electricity Usage at Sustainable Brands Conference
9/28/2007

BALTIMORE, Sept. 28 -- Constellation Energy (NYSE: CEG) today announced that its subsidiary, Constellation NewEnergy, has agreed to supply 250,000 kilowatt hours of Green-e Certified Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) to match 100 percent of the electricity usage during the Sustainable Brands '07 Conference currently under way in New Orleans. The RECs, which have been secured for the duration of the three-day conference, will support the development of clean, renewable wind generation and avoid the carbon emissions produced from the combustion of fossil fuels.

"Sustainable Brands '07 brings together Fortune 500 companies and business leaders to discuss the importance of developing more environmentally-friendly and socially-responsible products and solutions," said KoAnn Vikoren Skrzyniarz, president and CEO of Sustainable Life Media. "We are pleased to partner with Constellation NewEnergy to match 100 percent of the power for this conference."

This morning, Clem Palevich, who is leading Constellation Energy's Sustainable Energy Solutions group, will give a presentation at the conference on "The Emerging Carbon Market" and also participate in a panel discussion on carbon footprint transparency. At a sponsored lunch directly following these sessions, Constellation NewEnergy will provide attendees with compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFLs) to build awareness around the steps individuals and businesses can take to improve energy efficiency and minimize their own carbon footprint.

"We are pleased to support Sustainable Brands '07 by providing them with a source of clean, renewable power to match the electricity used during this important conference," said Palevich. "It is exciting to see so many business leaders from across the country come together to discuss these significant issues, which are closely aligned with Constellation NewEnergy's commitment to offer responsible and innovative energy solutions to our business customers across North America."
